Hello from 1066 – A Medieval Mosaic
Today is the big day for Gemma and Harry, their wedding day. Gemma is my cousin Stephen’s daughter, the first of that generation to marry. We wish them all the very best wishes for the future and a long and happy life together.
We arrived in Hove and drove past the Holland Road Baptist church but there was no parking anywhere as this is right near the beach front and the town centre. All the parking here is residents only so we drove further up the road and parked several blocks away in a pay and display park. The other guests had the same problem but I think we did quite well to be as close as we were. As we were so early we walked through the St Ann’s Well Gardens on our way back to the church. We had a quick look at the shops where we saw the beautiful looking Freemasons Restaurant but it was so cold we soon went into the church where other guests were already arriving. We sat with Janet and Neill near the front so we had an excellent view of the proceedings. We also saw Stuart and Caroline as well as meeting Freya, Niahm and Harvey for the first time. David and Joan were there, proud grandparents of the bride. We didn’t get to say hello to Stephen and Debbie and Zoe until after the wedding as they, of course, were part of the wedding party. Zoe was very excited to be a bridesmaid and did a brilliant job. Gemma looked lovely in her gorgeous wedding dress.
