Hello from 1066 – A Medieval Mosaic
Today was our 37th wedding anniversary and we booked to have dinner at The Wilford Bridge in Melton. Because our anniversary coincides with Valentines Day they had a special menu so after a busy day at the exhibition it was nice to relax and have a celebratory meal. The Wilford Bridge is located at the top of the Deben river, only a short distance from Sutton Hoo and from Riduna Park where we were holding our exhibition.
My starter was Smoked Salmon with asparagus, soft poached egg and hollandaise, my idea of heaven, and perfectly cooked. My main course was 16 oz T-bone steak cooked to a perfect \medium with shoestring fries, vine tomatoes, portobello mushrooms, onion rings and garlic butter. My dessert was Double Chocoalte Bomb filled with red velvet, strawberry cream and served with hot butterscotch sauce. Now that was the perfect meal!
Michael had pan fired scallops with crispy prosciutto, lime, chilli and herb butter for a starter. Corn fed chicken breast rubbed with honey, soy and sesame served with herbed parmentier potatoes and green vegetables. His dessert was chocolate and blood orange tart with clotted cream.
A lovely evening out with exceptional food. I gave Mike a geocoin for 5000 finds. We actually have nearly reached 6000 finds but when we got to 5000 we were able to buy the geocoin.
