February 24 – A short walk around Ross on Wye

Hi from Gillian and Michael

Last night I finished my crocheted blanket which took me three weeks of evenings watching Netflix. I have enjoyed making it so much I was keen to start another one. I have purchased all the double knit acrylic from the Sue Ryder shops and after a quick look on Google found that there was a Sue Ryder shop in Ross on Wye and it was open on a Sunday. So in the afternoon we drove into town, found a carpark and walked down to the main shops. The shop did not have a very good variety of yarn as I prefer the brightly coloured ones. The yarn I brought was white, pale blue, very pale yellow and even paler pink. I brought 400g for £10 which will make an entire blanket and next time I find a Sue Ryder shop I will see if they have a more colourful yarn. In the UK there are many charity shops which raise money. Sue Ryder is a charity which was founded in 1953 by Sue Ryder, with the creation of a nursing home in Suffolk, UK. Sue Ryder supports people with complex needs and life-threatening illnesses across the UK and internationally especially palliative, neurological and bereavement support.

Then we walked the dogs all around Ross and down near the river and then back up the hill again. W also tried to find the church micro at St Mary’s church but when we reached the site of the traditional cache iwe found that it had been archived so we returned back to the car park. A nice long walk all around town.
