Hello from 1066 – Medieval Mosaic
Another day in for most of the day today except for our walks with Alfie and it rained on and off all day. Great views from dining room and lounge though which gives us great spots to sit and work on the content of the new website. I worked on the blog while Mike worked on the Home and About pages. He pointed out that there was no back up for the site so I backed up each blog post to a Word Folder that took a while but well worth doing before something nasty happened.
Later in the afternoon, we took a drive into Ilfracombe to Tesco’s as we have run out of food. Just was we got to Watermouth Castle, a Family Theme Park and Castle, there was a queue of cars and cars coming in the opposite direction were saying there was a bad car accident ahead so we all needed to turn around and go back. We took a long way around through Berrynarbor. A picturesque little village where we checked again for the geocache we haven’t been able to find. Still no success. This village is getting lots of traffic this afternoon.
Mike re-photographed our Geocoins for the new website today and got some pretty good images. They are hard to photograph because of the glare on the metals of the coins. We had 100 sets of these geo coins made, all with individual tracking numbers and we still have some complete sets as well as some individual coins for sale through our website. Mike designed them for the 950th Anniversary of the Battle of Hastings. They are a limited edition set of the Five Kings of 1066 – Edward the Confessor, King Harold, William the Conqueror, Harold Hardrada, and Edgar Aethling.
