June 26 – Another day in

Hydrangeas

Hello from 1066 Medieval Mosaic

Another cold day so we laid low most of the day except for a couple of walks with Alfie around to Newberry Beach. Alfie loves the beach and we went at different tides so got different experiences. When it was really low tide we were going to walk right out to the low tide line but by the time we got there, there were people there with three dogs who were not in hurry to move.

We got lots of work done on the website and Mike is really coming to terms with the About and the Event sections, I think. While I am still catching up on writing the May texts. It is great looking back and seeing how much we have been doing and how much we have done.

We talked to Steven on Skype who gave me a few tips on using Facebook.

From the house, we can see an amazing row of hydrangeas which are all flowering. I was always told that the colour of hydrangeas depended on the soil. This might be ‘an old wives tale’ as this must all be the same soil but so many colours next to each other and even on the same plant from white to green to light pink, dark pink, light purple, dark purple, light blue, dark blue and violet. A veritable rainbow.

Just reading a Wikipedia page about hydrangeas. It looks like we will have to go China to see them for their most spectacular display or maybe Japan as I would love to go to Kawachi Fuji Gardens in Kitakyushu to see the wisteria.
